Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the use of plumbing and heating services provided by BSP Plumbing and Heating Services Ltd (“we,” “us,” “our”), a company registered in England and Wales with company registration number 13299382 and registered address at 9a Wick Road Business Park, Wick Road, Burnham on Crouch, Essex, CM0 8LT. By engaging our services, you (“Client,” “you,” “your”) agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.

1. Services Provided

We provide the following plumbing and heating services:

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of heating systems including boilers, radiators, and underfloor heating.
  • Emergency plumbing and heating services.
  • Gas-related services (provided only by Gas Safe registered engineers).

Our services will be provided as agreed upon in writing (email or formal contract) between us and the Client.

2. Scheduling and Cancellations

  • Scheduling: Appointments will be scheduled based on availability. We will notify you of the time and date for the scheduled work.
  • Deposit Policy: A 10% deposit is required for jobs exceeding £1,000 to secure the appointment and confirm the booking. This deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances, including cancellation by the Client.
  • Failure to Provide Access: If the Client is unable to provide access to the property at the scheduled time, a rescheduling fee may apply.

3. Pricing and Payment

  • Estimates: We will provide an estimate for the work to be performed. Any changes to the scope of work or costs will be communicated and agreed upon in writing before proceeding with additional work.
  • Quotes: All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. After 30 days, the quote may be subject to review and adjustment due to changes in material costs, labour rates, or other factors.
  • Payment Terms: Payment is due within 7 working days from the invoice date unless otherwise agreed. Accepted payment methods: Cash, Bank Transfer.
  • Late Payment: If payment is not received within 7 working days, we reserve the right to charge interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, plus reasonable recovery costs.
  • Deposit Requirement: For all jobs over £1,000, a 10% non-refundable deposit is required. This will be deducted from the final balance upon completion of the job.
  • Materials: All materials supplied by BSP Plumbing and Heating Services Ltd remain our property until the invoice is paid in full.
  • Third-Party Collection: If payment is not received within 7 working days, the outstanding balance will be passed to a third-party debt collection agency. Any associated fees will be added to the total amount owed and must be paid by the Client.

4. Liability

  • Workmanship Guarantee: We guarantee that all work will be carried out professionally and in compliance with UK regulations. Any defects in workmanship reported within 12 months will be rectified free of charge, unless caused by misuse or damage.
  • Limitation of Liability: Our liability is limited to the total cost of the service provided, except in cases of negligence or fraud.

Upgrading from Gravity to Pressurised Systems

We cannot be held responsible for any issues (e.g. burst or split pipes) that arise from upgrading to a pressurised system, including post-installation issues caused by increased system pressure.

Powerflushing Heating Pipework

While care will be taken during powerflushing, we are not liable for any damage, including burst or weakened pipework. It is recommended that systems be assessed for vulnerability prior to this service.

5. Client Responsibilities

  • Access and Safety: Clients must ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area. Unsafe conditions must be disclosed before work begins.
  • Accurate Information: Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information. Omissions may lead to delays or extra charges.

6. Permits and Regulations

Clients are responsible for securing any required permits or approvals, unless otherwise agreed. We will assist where possible but are not liable for unapproved works.

7. Emergency Services

Emergency work may incur additional charges. These will be discussed and agreed in advance before work starts.

8. Warranties

  • Parts and Materials: Parts may come with a manufacturer’s warranty. We will inform the Client of these where applicable.
  • Workmanship Warranty: We offer a 12-month warranty on our workmanship, provided the issue is not caused by misuse or accidental damage. Warranty is void if full payment has not been received.

9. Data Protection

All personal data is handled in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate this Agreement if payment is not received or if the Client breaches these Terms. The Client may terminate by written notice, but remains liable for all completed work and any non-refundable deposits.

11. Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve disputes informally first. If not resolved, we may proceed to mediation. If mediation fails, disputes will be handled in court under the laws of the relevant UK jurisdiction.

12. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any delays or service failures due to events beyond our control (e.g. natural disasters, strikes, governmental actions).

13. Changes to Terms & Conditions

These terms may be amended at any time. Updated terms will apply to all future services once notified to the Client.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be handled by the appropriate UK courts based on the Client’s location.
